There was a good turnout at the service this afternoon at the Memorial Cottages.
A new memorial stone, dedicated to the 31 local men who lost their lives in the Second World War, was unveiled during the ceremony.

Ref. Memorial stone my father was Sgt.M H Wigham, as well as my self he has grandchildren and g grandchildren who are very interested in it, we came 2 years ago to find any memories of him unsuccessfully , any information you have would be so welcome I am disappointed we weren’t at the dedication but would like to know any more about it yours June Watts (nee Wigham)
