Lights Out

Nationally, the British public are being urged to turn their lights off on Monday evening, to mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War One.

More information is available on the BBC website.

Locally, St Cuthbert’s Church are holding a ‘Vigil of Prayer’ at 6pm that evening. There is an open invitation to join them for silent prayer, to visit the War Memorials in church, to remember people from our community who died in time of war – or just to sit, wish, hope…

MONDAY 4TH AUGUST 2014
6p.m. – 7p.m. VIGIL OF PRAYER
(This is an opportunity also to pay a quiet visit to the War Memorials inside the Church)
Concluding at 7p.m… A SHORT SERVICE OF PRAYERS FOR PEACE
