At the last meeting of the Shotley Bridge Village Trust a presentation was given about the Consett Area Neighbourhood Plan, which includes the village.

An illustrated talk is being given by Keith Fisher on 11th October at 7pm in St Cuthbert’s Church Hall.
Keith, a local historian, has fully researched the history of local sword making and has published ‘The Crown and Crossed Swords’ about the German Sword-smiths in Shotley Bridge. [See previous post].
Swords will also be on display.
Tickets [£5] will be available at the meeting and proceeds are in aid of the Church Hall and Blooming Shotley Bridge.
