Summer bedding

June 11, 2011

Today the summer bedding arrived for planting up the Trust’s 50 tubs in the Conservation Area.

Volunteers removed the winter bedding, then replanted the tubs with Geraniums, Begonias, Bidens and Lobelias. Each tub is to be badged with the Trust’s new logo.  The daffodils are to be replanted in the Junior School grounds.

The Trust has spent over £400 to brighten up the village as part of the RHS “It’s Your Neighbourhood” initiative.  Hopefully the flowers will be in full colour when the Britain in Bloom judges come in July/August.

Thank you to the volunteers, Beveridges Nursery and to Councillor Barnett & The Snod’s Quest Club who helped provide funding.

Willow Burn – Gifts in Wills

June 1, 2011

July is Willow Burn’s “Make a Will Month”, when five local solicitors have agreed to write a straightforward will and waive their usual charge in return for a donation to Willowburn.  Suggested donation amounts are £70 for a single Will and £95 for a joint Will.

This is a great opportunity for you to review your existing Will and make sure your affairs are in order, while supporting your local hospice with a donation to Willow Burn, rather than paying a fee to the solicitor!

Further information about Gifts in Wills can be found on the Willow Burn website.
