The Village Trust raised £164 at the FunDay last Monday on its ‘Pick a Prize’ stall, for the Blooming Shotley Bridge fund.
Tickets are now on sale for the next fundraising event in October. We need to raise £800 each year to continue planting the tubs and troughs in the village.
The annual Fun Day organised by the Benfieldside, Blackhill, Bridgehill & Shotley Bridge Community Partnership is being held again at the Spa Grounds on August Bank Holiday Monday.
Nationally, the British public are being urged to turn their lights off on Monday evening, to mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War One.

Locally, St Cuthbert’s Church are holding a ‘Vigil of Prayer’ at 6pm that evening. There is an open invitation to join them for silent prayer, to visit the War Memorials in church, to remember people from our community who died in time of war – or just to sit, wish, hope…

The aim is to increase the chances of having valuable items returned to you should they be lost or stolen, by making the items identifiable and logging them onto the Immobilise website: www.immobilise.com
This site is completely FREE and logs the details of your valuable items, keeping them all in a safe place. Officers are able to search this site when looking to identify the owner of recovered property, so well worth spending a rainy day logging your items.
NHS North Durham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is proposing some changes to urgent care services at Shotley Bridge Hospital.
At its meeting on Wednesday the Shotley Bridge Hospital Support Group discussed the proposals.
