This week your Safer Neighbourhoods Unit are promoting vehicle awareness. 42% of thefts from vehicles over the last 90 days in the Consett area could have been prevented by simply locking vehicles and ensuring ALL items of value were removed from sight.

On a first come first served basis you can visit Consett Police Office or Stanley Police Officeand pick up a FREE vehicle security pack (as pictured).  Their front counter is open from 10am-5pm Monday-Friday,  but supplies are limited.

Village Centre Improvements

September 10, 2013

Over 100 people visited the King’s Head Social Club today to look at the County Council’s exhibition.  The Council had selected and produced detailed, costed proposals for 5 of the 17 suggestions put forward at the Village Trust open meeting last October.

The Village Trust had been pre-consulted about the 5 schemes which were discussed at its Open meeting in June.  If you wish to read the Trust’s response, take a look at their S106 information sheet.

Funding of £125,000 is being provided in relation to the housing development on the hospital site.

If you had intended seeing  the exhibition but were unable to attend, send your comments this week to dawn.reed@durham.gov.uk
