Green dog walkers

February 5, 2012

The Green Dog Walkers scheme, run by Durham County Council, has operated since May last year.   It is aimed at ensuring that all dog walkers clean up after their pets.

The scheme, which is funded by the Derwent Valley Area Action Partnership, is free to join and the County’s Civic Pride Team is calling on more dog owners to join and help keep public places clean and pleasant for everyone.

Members of the scheme wear armbands and carry extra dog waste bags for others to use.

For more information about how to get involved visit the County Council’s website.
